All Day Kindergarten (children need to be 5 by Sept. 30)
Our All Day Kindergarten class provides for greater continuity of day-to-day activities while your child remains in one location for his or her academic needs. Curriculum is designed to meet the Ohio Department of Education standards. Kid Village Kindergarten allows students and their teacher time to explore topics in-depth, and reduces the ratio of transition time to class time. All Day Kindergarten offers students more independent learning, classroom involvement, and productivity in work with peers. Studies show that students that attend all day kindergarten will have academic and social benefits in the primary grades. We feel that our students enter first grade with the confidence they need to succeed.
We invite our parents to volunteer in the classroom and to participate with your child in our family activities. Through report cards and parent/teacher conferences, parents are regularly informed of their child�s progress.
Pre-K/Kindergarten - Explore More Class
This class includes students who are young 5 year olds not attending kindergarten as well as students who are attending a partial-day kindergarten and who want a complementary learning experience. Their day will include library & computer lab, recess, and a special (music, art, health, theater, and gym). Students will also have time for creative writing, reading, and a variety of hands on learning experiences.
BASE - Before/After School Enrichment
Kid Village offers an environment where GES/GIS students can enjoy social and academic enrichment before and after school. We offer a variety of activities and resources, including:
- Library & Computer Lab-a quiet place to work on homework or rest with a great book
- Gym-all students need to include some type of exercise in their day
- Music & Movement Studio-get your bodies moving to a variety of fun music & instruments
- Theater-dress up and put on your best performance or gather together for a movie
- Art Studio-show us your creative side
- School-Age Commons-a great place to play games and hangout with friends
- Kitchen-students can help themselves to a healthy breakfast or after school snack
- Homework Help & Tutoring
No School/No Problem
Does your school-age child need somewhere fun to go on no school days? Your child can attend Kid Village on any or all of these no school days. Each day will be filled with age appropriate, seasonally themed activities. You can register in advance to secure a spot or call at anytime and see if there are any openings.
L.E.A.P (learn-explore-and-play) � Summer School Age Camps (grades 1-6)
School age camps are designed to keep children active and engaged through hands on learning. Each themed week is full of fun, age appropriate activities. We have a variety of visitors come to the center for in house field trips to enhance our summer curriculum. School age children also get the opportunity to venture out on a few field trips.
